Another fire? Oh dear!

A couple of weeks ago there was another fire in Herriman. I don't know if you remember the other one two years ago when we had to evacuate. That was probably one of the worst nights of my life. I was babysitting my brothers three youngest kids while they were at my sister in laws concert, the youngest being just a baby. The fire started at Camp Williams and none of us really thought it would get over the mountain so they decided to still go to the concert. After a few hours I saw the flames on top of the mountain right behind their house. I wasn't really thinking anything of it and I put the kids down to bed. Brian and I were watching some tv and I went to go check on the kids and looked outside and saw the flames halfway down the mountain coming closer and closer to us. I then saw some of our neighbors outside taking off. I started freaking out and called my mom. She tried to calm me down and told me to just get the kids and get out of there. I then tried calling my brother to see what he needed me to get from the house, but no answer. My mom told me to just get a bottle, formula and diapers for the baby. I grabbed the kids out of the car and put them in the van. I went in the house to crab the basket of stuff I put together and when I came back out to the van my nephew was gone from the van. I really started freaking out now and was panicking looking for my nephew all over the house yelling his name. I then found him back in his bed fast asleep. He did not want to get woken up. I finally got all the kids in the van and Brian followed me in my car. We drove to my sisters house and the whole way there I was on the phone with my Mom just crying and all the kids were crying and it was just not a good situation. I finally arrived to my sisters and my parents came to the house for me. We finally got a hold of my brother and told him we had evacuated. They left the concert and came up to my sisters house since they weren't letting anyone up there. There were a couple of things that my brother wanted from the house but couldn't get. I felt so bad that I hadn't grabbed it and I was just balling feeling like I ruined everything. Luckily, their house didn't burn down. They couldn't live in it for about a week since there had been ash damage and got all their clothes, furniture and carpet cleaned. Like I said the worst night of my life!
So on our way home from work I saw flames coming from the mountains in the direction where we live. Brian and I started getting really nervous and listened to the radio and yes in fact it was in Herriman. Of course, Koy and Cassie had left just hours before for Yellowstone. The radio was saying that our area wasn't being evacuated yet so we drove home and got some stuff ready just in case. Koy and Cassie were able to actually tell me what they wanted out this time. We weren't going to leave until we got a call or if we were worried it was getting too close. It never did come too close so we ended up being fine. This was all on a Friday night and when the evacuation was lifted Saturday night, Brian and I drove to see the damage. There were 4 houses that burned and a few other houses with some damage. It literally was amazing how many houses were saved. Brian and I couldn't believe how many houses that should have been burned were still there. There were some house that was completely surrounded by black. These pictures don't do it justice, but here is an idea of what it looks like......
The smoke from our backyard
 Black mountain
This was just on the other side of the street from the houses
The fire right in their backyard

The firefighters camped out at the park just in case
You can't see them very well but there are about 20 firefighter just chilling at the park
When we first went to see the fire we didn't know the name of the street where the houses burned down so we looked it up and went to see it the next day and sadly I forgot my camera. That street was even more sad and amazing how many houses were saved.
